After attending going to the Isle of Wight for Joe Dale's fantastic conference on ICT in MFL, I was truely inspired and looking forward to experimenting with his ideas in my ICT specialist status school.
Unfortunately, my enthusiasm was deflated at the first hurdle; I set up a Blogger blog for my kids, put loads of work into it, only to find it was blocked at school!
I soon got overwhelmed with other things that NQTs get overwhelmed with and my ability to try new things became inpracticle.
Then came 2008! New start, new blog, new ideas. I have a few projects in the pipeline and am looking forward to blogging about the success and the failure. I am not gonna give up again this time!

Year 8 Half Term Homework
Your task is to use your new-found dictionary skills to look up at least 10 new words to do with yourself. Post these words as comments on my blog. Don't worry if you can't do this, just write it in your book. If you don't have access to a dictionary at home, you could go to the library, stop by L2 before Wednesday's lesson to borrow one of mine, or use www.wordreference.com (although you won't be able to practice your skills as well with this!)
Below is the powerpoint from today's lesson, just to remind you!

Expanding our horizons
As you can see, we are trying a few new things, in the form of a blog! And that is only the beginning! For those of you who don't know, a blog is traditionally seen as a type of online diary, or a 'web log'. Nowadays, people use blogs for all sorts of things.
At Sneyd, a select few classes will be using this blog this term to try a few things out. It means that it won't be just me and you that see your hard work- but your class mates, aunty in Australia and the rest of the world!
I am super excited about it, and I hope you will be too. This not a 'Madame Bégué project, but something we can create together, so any input and ideas will be welcomed (unless it involves having a day off school to 'work from home').
Watch this space!
Madame B
